Narcissistic Abuse

What is it?

Narcissistic abuse refers to the emotional, psychological, physical, sexual, or financial forms of abuse that someone with narcissistic traits inflicts on others. This abuse can range from mild putdowns to severe, life-threatening violence. The goal of the abuser is to manipulate, control and instil fear, doubt and a sense of worthlessness in the other person.

How can I identify it?

Narcissistic Abuse is often subtle and highly manipulative, without physical evidence which makes it difficult to decipher if you are experiencing abuse. Narcissistic abuse isn't always  exclusive to intimate partner relationships. It can also occur in relationships with a parent, family member, friend, boss or colleague.
